Day One
Departing South Wales, we head along the motorways and on to the Salthouse Harbour Hotel in Ipswich, for our four night stay with evening meals and breakfast included.
This superbly located hotel is the centrepiece of the resurgent Waterfront District. Imaginatively converted from an old warehouse, this boutique hotel has loads of personality, from spaces filled with contemporary art and modern sculptures right through to it's classy bedrooms!

Day Two - Southwold & Aldeburgh
This morning we take in the Suffolk's sea views as we head to Southwold, known for its brightly painted beach huts and lovely pier. From here it's on to the village of Thorpeness with it's pretty mock Tudor houses and 'house in the clouds', and with stop off at Aldeburgh - a step back in time to complete your day out.
Day Three - Clacton and Colchester
Today we head to the seaside town of Clacton On Sea. The largest town on the Essex Sunshine Coast has been the place to be seen since the 1950s and today still attracts visitors from all around. A lively pier, large promenade and the seafront gardens are just a few things to enjoy.
From here it's back to the city of Colchester. Once the capital for Roman Britain, the city has a history that stretches back over 2000 years, and it's historic centre is ideal for exploring. Couple this with typical high street shopping and loads of independent boutiques and eateries making Colchester a great place to visit.
Day Four - Ipswich and the River Orwell
On the doorstep of your hotel is Ipswich. East Anglia's Waterfront town is home to arts venues, independent, shops, vibrant bars and cosy pubs, along with so much more. There's also the opportunity to take a cruise on the River Orwell (not included with your holiday), with Suffolk to one side and Essex to the other.
Day Five
Time to bid farewell to East Anglia and head for home. With refreshment break along the way, arriving home that evening.
